Asynchronous workshop “Key issues and trends in 2026 regarding the energy transition in Latin America”

How is the energy transition changing in Latin America? What challenges does it pose in a context marked by geopolitical transformations, a crisis of multilateralism, and growing demands for climate justice?

To address these questions, Fundación Argentina 1.5 is making available a series of six short audiovisual capsules, produced within the framework of the asynchronous workshop "Keys and trends in 2026 on the energy transition in Latin America".

Through reflections, analysis, and experiences from different countries in the region, the series offers a perspective on some of the main debates currently surrounding the just energy transition, linking energy, climate change, development, adaptation, and justice.

The series addresses six key areas:

From Santa Marta to Bonn: Geopolitics, the crisis of multilateralism and a just energy transition

A look at the international context in which the energy transition is taking place and the challenges it poses for cooperation and climate action.

Adaptation as a cross-cutting theme in a just energy transition. A reflection on the need to incorporate climate change adaptation as a fundamental dimension of the transformations in the energy sector.
